Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Compile aviation documentation
   • Flight time recording requirements are accurately transcribed and compiled within authorised flight documents
2. Aviation legislation, aeronautical information and general operating rules are confirmed and applied to aviation operations
3. Maintenance release requirements and documentation are compiled.
4. Apply flight crew licensing knowledge
   • Knowledge of remote pilot licence limitations and privileges is applied
5. Apply flight rules and conditions of flight
   • Rules of the air are applied to SPAS operations
6. Visual flight rules (VFR) and visual meteorology conditions are applied to RPAS operations.
7. System lighting configuration and operating requirements are followed
8. Minimum operating heights for flights over populated and other areas are applied
9. Flight operating limitations over public gatherings are complied with
10. Flight operating requirements for take-off and landing during daylight hours are applied
11. Apply operations legislative requirements
    • Dangerous goods and miscellaneous payload requirements are applied
12. Legislative responsibilities and requirements of the remote pilot in command (PIC) are identified
13. Legislative requirements of remote pilot before and after flight duties are applied
14. Apply aerodrome and airspace knowledge
    • Aerodrome movement areas, landing areas, helicopter landing site (HLS) and markings are identified
15. Aerodrome operating procedures are applied to circuit operations
16. Classes of controlled and uncontrolled airspace are complied with
17. Prohibited, restricted and danger (PRD) area flight operating conditions are applied
18. Flight information and air traffic service area boundaries and limitations are identified and applied to aviation operations
19. Appropriate reference heights are calculated and applied to aviation operations
20. Apply aviation knowledge
    • Radio equipment listening watch requirements are applied
21. Emergency incident and accident definitions and reporting requirements are outlined
22. Flight incident and accident notification responsibilities of the PIC are identified
